How do we protect the confidentiality and security of your information?

Pi Lambda Theta maintains physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to ensure that your personal information is treated responsibly and in accordance with our privacy policy. We restrict access to your personal information within our organization to those employees who need to know that information to serve you.

What personal information do we collect?

We collect the following personal information:

  • Information you submit to us on applications and other forms.
  • Information from colleges and universities.
  • Information about your transactions with us.
  • Information about the products that you request or buy.
  • Information from your credit card when you make a purchase. Your credit card information is encrypted for security.

How does Pi Lambda Theta use the data collected?

Data collected are used to help us better serve our members. It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that visitors, members, and universities knowingly provide. Pi Lambda Theta uses information voluntarily submitted by members and other customers in the following ways:

Pi Lambda Theta Member Services and Products. Pi Lambda Theta uses data collected to improve its own web content and to respond to visitors’ interests, needs, and preferences.

Disclosures to Third Parties. Pi Lambda Theta may occasionally provide limited data to partners that offer products and services. These limited data include names, mailing addresses, and email addresses.

We sometimes employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include fulfilling orders, delivering packages, sending postal mail and email, providing marketing assistance (including direct and targeted marketing), processing credit card payments, and providing customer service.

Credit Card Account Information. Pi Lambda Theta never discloses credit card account information provided by its members and customers. When members and customers choose to pay using their credit cards, Pi Lambda Theta submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse.

We send emails to keep our members updated about opportunities and benefits. Occasionally, our partners may market their own products and services directly to you.
