November 2011 PDK Study Trip to Central Europe
This trip took place November 4-13, 2011.
Group members enjoyed the opportunity to connect and converse with European colleagues on a 10-day study tour to schools in Berlin and Munich. They experienced firsthand the realities and challenges of contemporary German education.
This trip also allowed them to experience the sites and culture of central Europe while earning valuable professional development credit. Travelers visited many famous sites such as: Schloss Neuschwanstein, Golden Lane, Zwinger Museum, St. Vitus Cathedral, and the Checkpoint Charlie Museum.
November 2010 PDK Study Trip to China
This trip took place November 10-21, 2010.
In addition to visiting primary, secondary, and experimental learning environments in Chinese schools, participants traveled to highly-recognized tourist sites such as The Forbidden City, The Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, and the Beijing Opera.
Discussions with school teachers and administrators shed new light on travelers’ understanding of education in the People’s Republic of China. This journey gave participants a new perspective on the shape of learning outside of Western society.
