Youâ€™ve contacted the international office to set up a Direct Honors program or maybe you already have one in place. Now you need to submit your list of eligible students. To do this, you need to:
- Determine who is eligible, and
- Submit the list of students who qualify.
Determine who is eligible
Membership is open to any graduate or undergraduate student who:
- Intends to pursue a career in education,
- Has achieved a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, and
- Is currently enrolled in a qualified degree program.
Additionally, if the applicant is a graduate student, he/she must have completed at least two courses in a graduate degree program or post-baccalaureate certification or credential program. If a graduate student has completed fewer than two graduate courses, the undergraduate GPA should be used.
If the applicant is an undergraduate student, he/she must have achieved at least a sophomore standing in a baccalaureate degree program.
Please note that applicants must have demonstrated an intent to pursue a career in education. Membership is not limited to those in teacher training. Students in any area of concentration within an education major qualify (e.g., teaching, administration, school psychology) and students in majors other than education who have taken core courses in education also qualify. - Prefix (Mr, Ms, etc., â€“ no periods, please.)

Required information is denoted with an asterisk (*). However, your students will receive more tailored services if you can provide all of the information requested.
We encourage you to provide email addresses for your students so that we can send them an invitation to use our online application. Using the online application means that they can receive member benefits â€“ like Educational Horizons â€“ more quickly. (Weâ€™ve seen that email invitations have the highest response rates among the student population.)
