Photo of Patricia SkelleyCollege is an exciting, new adventure. It’s a time to learn how to be independent and manage our own lives. This may sound overwhelming at first, but technology offers many tools that can help make things a little easier. Here are a few ways technology has helped me and can help you, too.

Save money with e-books. College is expensive. The reality of how expensive college can be isn’t something we fully grasp until we are halfway done and have racked up a debt of $10,000. Sure, there are scholarships and grants and loans, but loans add up over the years. Then factor in the cost of your housing and food and any social activities you might want to do, and the debt keeps escalating. Do yourself a favor and buy e-books when possible. It’s an easy way to save on the cost of textbooks, and they’re easier to lug around campus.
