Cathy StephensQ: I’m just starting to look for a job. Where can I find job listings?

A: There are many options, and it depends how far you want to cast your net. Plan to attend educator career fairs in the state where you want to teach. They are easy to find by doing a Google search. If you are staying local and have narrowed it down to specific districts, their websites are your best bet. If you’re looking to cast your net out of your area, Teachers-Teachers.com is a great resource. Districts across the country use it as a recruiting tool, so it’s a great place to showcase your profile. If your interest is in overseas opportunities, we have found International Schools Services and The International Educator to be effective and user-friendly websites. Finally, if you are just completing your educator preparation program, check with your university’s career services office to see if they have additional resources.

Do your research!

Q: What is a good response when the interviewer asks me to tell her about myself? How far back in my history do I go?
